Ennis tidy towns were delighted to welcome Tomohide to Ennis durning his visit of Ireland carrying out research on the tidy towns competition.
Tomohide Yazawa is with the Shizuoka Research Institute in Japan and and he is researching the tidy towns competition in Ireland, to see would a simalar competition work in Shizuoka.
We wish Tomohide well with his research, and we were delighted to spend time with him and Naoko his Interpreter, and share our knowledge as regards the competition and our town and we also learned alot about Japan.

ECO-UNESCO’S Energy Education Day FREE TRAINING PROGRAMME in co-operation with Clare County Council and Ennis Tidy Towns Committee takes place on 26th October 2010 at Ennis Town Council Offices, Drumbiggle, Ennis, Co. Clare.

The Learning outcomes for the day are as follows:
- What Environmental Education (Education for Sustainable Development) is
- How to integrate interactive Environmental Education activities into youth work
- Concepts related to Sustainable Development & Energy
- How to encourage critical thinking in young people through Environmental Education
- How to foster Environmental Awareness in Young People through Environmental Education.
The training programme is suitable for anybody working on Energy Education with young people or wishing to do so in the future.

The Tidy towns carries out a clean up every monday night so why not get involved?, contact us and join us for a clean up, and also meet new friends and have some fun,and get fit along the way.

One of our tidy towns committee members recently completed and obtained a certificate for participating in the community road safety programme which was organised by the road safety authority.
The tidy towns are now able to facilitate training adult groups in Ennis on road safety awareness, and will work with residents groups, sports and voluntary groups and all interested parties to raise awareness on road safety for adults
