The tidy towns were presented with the Tom Mannion trophy recently at the Falls hotel Ennistymon. The Clare Tourism Council were presenting awards to tidy towns groups in Clare for their achievements in the national competition.

Wallcandy street art project has drawn together artists & designers with diverse skills to create pieces of art on walls and buildings around the town of Ennis.

The aim of Wallcandy is to give artists the opportunity and freedom to conceive and create a piece of art that uses a particular site in an interesting and quirky way. The resulting artworks hope to engage, surprise and entertain viewers of all ages.

Community Challenge 2010

Community Challenge 2010Tidy Towns is challenging Residents Associations to come up with projects to enhance their environment which could see groups winning a grant of up to €200 towards their project.

Ennis Tidy Towns committee will give a grant of up to €200 to every group that comes up with an appropriate idea or project. Minimum paperwork is required. Projects can include planting, placenames, seating or litter-picking equipment, for example. So let’s have some ideas and improve our neighbourhood environments.

Ennis Community shines at Ennis Tidy Towns Local Awards

Ennis Tidy Towns presented over 162 awards to members of the Ennis Community at their Annual Local Awards ceremony in recognition of the huge community effort that resulted in another very successful year for Ennis in the National Tidy Towns Awards. 2009 saw Ennis winning Ireland’s Largest Urban Centre Award for the second year in succession, along with the Regional Award, a Gold Medal and the Gum Litter Award.Chairman of the Ennis Tidy Towns Committee, Noel Crowley expressed his gratitude to the Ennis public for their ongoing support and hard work in maintaining their areas to such high standards. “We…
